Doodle Up an Army of Spring Fingerprint Bugs

The past weekend brought snow and plenty of craft time. We pulled out the stamp pads and went crazy coming up with silly bugs to doodle, improvising a bit on which part of our finger to stamp to get just the right shape. Daisy struggles to break things down into smaller shapes to draw them (e.g. a dress is a continuous outline, and it might not quite end where it started), and this was a nice exercise in looking at things as smaller components. The caterpillar took fingertips for nice round body segments (Daisy added feet, antennae and face).

Butterflies are the entire side of a pinky with prints of the whole thumb pad. You can add a nice round fingertip head if you like.

Shoes notwithstanding, eight legs make a spider!

…and mommy’s big fat fingerprint makes the mommy ladybug, while itsy-bitsy kid fingerprints stamp up a whole family of eensy-weensy baby ladybugs!

Awwww… my daughter loves anything having to do with bugs, so I know she will enjoy doing something like this!
these are adorable!
