Barefoot Books Giveaway: Great Books for Fun Kids!
AnnieBananie is our winner with entry number 344…wow, lots of entries!
“I like the way you can shop by age. It makes shopping for neices and nephews so easy!”
This giveaway is now closed…thank you all for playing!
Books are one of my favorite gifts to give–and receive. I love visiting the bookshop, browsing around with my cup of tea, and spending a little quiet time finding something that I love for someone special. Doesn’t that conjure up a nice image? Add three children to it and it’s just a wee bit less pretty. Barefoot Books is the most delightful second option I’ve found. Their books are unique, beautiful, and well-thought-out, and are so well organized and described that it’s a treat to shop their site.
Just in time for the holidays, Joana McKenna, a Stallholder with Barefoot has offered three of their bestselling titles, plus a special bonus item to one lucky commenter. The titles are:
- I Took The Moon For A Walk
- Playtime Rhymes with CD
- Off We Go To Mexico
- and bonus: Yoga Planet Deck Of Cards
To enter, get your cup of tea and settle in for a minute to visit Joana’s Barefoot Bookshop and report back with the most unique/favorite thing you found about the Barefoot Book shop (comments close Saturday 11/28 at 8am Pacific time). It could be something about the shop itself, a book that you fell in love with, just make sure you have a nice visit
I’ll start. I really like the gift sets that they’re offering for the holidays. The prices are reasonable and they would make such a lovely, well-thought-out gift without too much work!
As a second bonus, Joana’s offered a 10% discount to anyone visiting from Kiddio. Just click that nice little button down there (I’ll also add it to the sidebar, over there –>)!

I really like the African Wildlife puppets and Safari book. Cute!
Oh what to choose! I adore the African Wildlife Finger Puppets… but I think my very first choice will have to be: The Barefoot Book of stories from the Opera, I love that it comes with a CD - the whole thing is just fantastic - where was this when I was a kid?
I love Grandmother’s Stories, thats what I gave for Mother’s Day this year. They were much loved!
I love the round the world collection, we have several books from this set and my son loves all of them. Not only are the books well written, the illustrations are beautiful too. And really, one can never have enough books!
What fun books thank you so much!!!
sorry I forgot to mention that I like the sing a long collection, we love singing at our home… and Grandmother collection
I really like Grandmother’s stories and the Story Tree. What an amazing selection. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
I also blogged about it at mtolmanclan.blogspot.com
I just love to give books as gifts too! That site is wonderful! My favorite thing would be "The Barefoot Book of Faeries - Paperback & CD". My 6 year old loves to read and write her own little stories and all of her written stories are about fairies.
Silly as it sounds, I like the Bunbun book, for my husband. He had a stuffed bunny, still lurking around here somewhere. This would be great for him to share with our grandson. Thanks for the contest.
I really liked the poetry books for younger children. One of my favorites was Listen, Listen. I thought the African wildlife art and abc book was beautiful.
I love the Around the World sing-a-long and all the books are so lovingly illustrated and just beautiful!
Great site here, BTW!
I think the Blessings Book looks absolutely darling. I wish all my relatives would just get the kids books this year. We already have WAAAY too many toys, but you can never have too many books.
Wow! The pictures are wonderful. I just love the use of color. Of course my little ones are under the age of 3, so I like the beginner books. The alphabet blocks would be wonderful.
I love the African Wildlife puppets. Books are wonderful! My kids love books. We easily take out like 30 a week from the library!
Awesome, giveaway! Thanks!
I really like that they have a good selection of books with the story cd. My 3 year old loves these but I have had a hard time finding quality stories (at a reasonable price) so nice to know that barefoot books has so many to choose from.
I like the Zig Zag Zebra activity book. It’s the kind of free form activity book I used to love when I was little.
Adventure Stories From Far and Wide -
Gift Collection. What a great shop!
I think the book Listen, Listen sounds neat.
Loved “African Animals ABC”
I love the Listen, Listen book. We checked this one out from the library recently and the kids loved it.
Thanks,

So nice. I just really like how the shop is organized — makes it so easy to browse. Some other online shops I have to know the exact title I want, and even then sometimes it’s hard to find what I’m looking for. Very nice resource!

My favorite (which my daughter LOVES) is the Our World floor puzzle. We did a trip to Asia this year and she is excited to identify places on the map. Also love Off we go to Mexico, great if you plan on making a trip there.
My girls would love the Princess Puppet!
The fairy gift sets are great. thanks

I like that she has the option to shop buy age. I rarely buy books online because it is go hard to guess the reading level especially in children’s book buy breif descriptions. deane_williams at sbcglobal dot net
