Don’t Miss the MomAdvice Big Give!
I’ve been super-sick (thanks kindergarten germs!), but I’m so excited to share this big project by Amy at MomAdvice that I had to get over it long enough to pass this along. She’s spearheading an effort to bring donations to the shelter in her hard-hit hometown in Indiana, and to get us all thinking charitably. Please go check out her post, consider making a donation (however small), and/or think about how you can rally your children, family, and community to support the good people hit with economic troubles this year.
The Thanksgiving-Christmas season is a great time to find opportunities for charitable work. A couple of years ago I gathered donations of cash and requested items for families at our local domestic abuse shelter from members of our mom’s group (I just found the organization, collected, wrapped, and delivered–the real credit goest to the mom’s group) and we were able to donate over $1500 worth of goods and food. If you’re feeling strapped yourself, the donation of time is always welcome at shelters, nursing homes, and animal shelters.
How are you going to give of yourself this winter?

I’ve been working on a site to help motivate bloggers to pass along the goods they might get for free. I love your idea.
Whoops - I should leave the URL: http://www.bloggersgiveback.com
Thank you so much for sharing about this. It means so much to me! That is incredible that you were able to get $1500 dollars of goodies. I really hope we are able to do something equally as great. Thanks so much for sharing about our mission!!
