Giveaway! $20 at Oompa Toys

Oompa Toys is one of my very favorite online choices for fun, safe kids’ toys and art supplies. They’ve got a great selection of toys from HABA and other European manufacturers (and if you’ve read earlier rants, er, posts you already know that the EU imposes strict standards on their toys). Also, they promise NO BATTERIES. NO BLINKING LIGHTS. NO CARTOON-THEMED TOYS. PERIOD. Got it?
To enter to win a $20 gift certificate to Oompa toys, just leave a comment below with something you’d like to see a post about. Contest ends midnight April 30, and the winner will be selected by random number generator. Check back to see if it’s you!
(note that personal information, e.g. email address, will not be shared or added to a mailing list, whatever.)
Thanks, and good luck!
This contest is closed! Congratulations to reeva, I hope you enjoy your certificate!

I loved Quiet, Loud and Yummy, Yucky! I’d like to hear about more books like this. Fun ones that aren’t very long.
Books by Kit Allen are fun and simple. Our favorite is ‘Slide, Already!’ which is about a little guy who is unsure about the slide on the playground. Allen also has some wonderfully simple board books about seasonally related clothing: ‘Swimsuit’, ‘Sweater’, and ‘Galoshes’ to name a few.
This is sure to become a very helpful blog for our home! I’m looking forward to your updates and reviews on the latest and greatest NEW children’s books! A fun new creative activity will be fantastic too!
OOMPA is a fave toysite of mine (linked on my blog too!), Moolka is great, also.
I would love reviews of fitness gear, clothing, baby gear (like joggers, trailers).
Anything everything, books!
Congrats on your blog!

Thanks for the info on music. We don’t listen to a lot at our house, but think that our kiddo should get an appreciation for same. I know it’s not a toy - but would love to see some gardening stuff for kids - quick growing plants, etc… that they can do. We have a huge garden that our son loves to help with and this year part of it will be “his”
I linked here from the no cry sleep message board. I love all your great ideas. I am a mom who has brought very young children into the kitchen and taught them early how to properly use a knife, but your suggestion for safe cutting tools was wonderful. I use to teach at a montessori school and seem to always forget to go to them for resources. Thanks for the reminder. I would love to see reviews of useful household child friendly items, stools, knives, cleaning supplies, and the like. Great site, a lot of fun to look around in.
Great website with some wonderful information and opinions. I would love to see more ideas on tools to use safely in the kitchen with kids.
I’ve love to see some recipes that are fun to make with children. Or book reviews that focus on the same type of thing.
I’d like some ideas about extended car rides with multiple aged kiddos. I mean, we have some standard tricks and all, but I need some new ones for my arsenal before this summer.
i love to try to win this thanks
i would want to hear about good books that are action rhymes as well.
Let’s see…I’d love to see a post on activities and crafts for the under 3 crowd in case of rainy days when running around in a circle for 20 minutes outside just isn’t feasible.

Thanks!
You have good stuff on this blog! I already love Montessori Services and I LOVE Oompa toys!
I’m going to bookmark this blog. Have you talked about Micheal Olaf toys?
Or look at THIS cool website I just found this week: http://www.atoygarden.com/index.cfm
I loved your post about cooking with your kids & letting them use the wavy chopper. I’d love to see a post with more, if any, ideas you’ve implemented from the Montessori catalog/school of thought. My little guy is 2, and I’ve just started letting him “help” me cook - but I feel like there’s more I could be doing in that Montessori ideal of giving kids meaningful work to do at home. Any ideas?

I would love to see posts about children’s books that focus on the child versus on characters. Such as Only You by Robin Cruise. Thanks for the giveaway.
I would love to hear more comments on maximizing brain potential for our newborn/infants. Since 75% of our brains develop by age 3, I think it’s very important to facilitate this development.
I also love recipes and cooking. Cooking stuff for kids would be cool!

I’d like to hear more about cooking with kids.
Maybe a post about books that have been turned into movies and which is better. usually it’s the book but not always.
I love Oompa toys.
I’d like to see info on science/nature books for littles.
My 2yo and 4yo are really loving rhymes (or songs) with finger plays, but I don’t know very many! I would love a blog post that not only tells me the rhyme and actions, but maybe also has an accompanying video or voice clip of someone saying the rhyme, so I can hear appropriate voice inflections, pauses, etc.
Honestly anything child related is fabulous but more ideas with how to include them in our day to day activities would be great! And anything books. I am ALWAYS looking for good books! Thanks!
I’d like to see a post about classic toys revisited. I long to find all the old toys I used to know and love and give them to my kids….so much better than many that are out today! Thanks for the contest!

Great giveaway! I hope i’m the lucky winner!
I’d like to see a posts about funny things that kids say, ways kids can develop a sense of community, and baby friendly vacation spots
How about a post about introducing pets to babies.

I’d like to hear what you have to say about giving toddlers meaningful tasks around the house, especially without Mom losing her mind out of impatience or frustration. Hypothetically speaking.
Thanks!
This is an astonishing entry. Thank you very much for the supreme post provided! I was looking for this entry for a long time, but I wasn
